upon it
إِلَّا

جَعَلَتْهُ
jaʿalathu
it made it
كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
kal-ramīmi
like disintegrated ruins
﴾42﴿
وَفِى
wafī
And in
ثَمُودَ
thamūda
Thamud
إِذْ
idh
when
قِيلَ
qīla
was said
لَهُمْ
lahum
to them
تَمَتَّعُوا۟
tamattaʿū
Enjoy (yourselves)
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattā
for
حِينٍۢ
ḥīnin
a time
﴾43﴿
فَعَتَوْا۟
faʿataw
But they rebelled
عَنْ
ʿan
against
أَمْرِ
amri
(the) Command
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
(of) their Lord
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ
fa-akhadhathumu
so seized them
ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ
l-ṣāʿiqatu
the thunderbolt
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
يَنظُرُونَ
yanẓurūna
were looking
﴾44﴿
فَمَا
famā
Then not
ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟
is'taṭāʿū
they were able to
مِن
min
[of]
قِيَامٍۢ
qiyāmin
stand
وَمَا
wamā
and not
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they could
مُنتَصِرِينَ
muntaṣirīna
help themselves
﴾45﴿
