يَخْرُصُونَ
yakhruṣūna
lie
﴾20﴿
أَمْ
am
Or
ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ
ātaynāhum
have We given them
كِتَـٰبًۭا
kitāban
a book
مِّن
min
before it
قَبْلِهِۦ
qablihi
before it
فَهُم
fahum
so they
بِهِۦ
bihi
to it
مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ
mus'tamsikūna
(are) holding fast
﴾21﴿
بَلْ
bal
Nay
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
they say
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
وَجَدْنَآ
wajadnā
[we] found
ءَابَآءَنَا
ābāanā
our forefathers
عَلَىٰٓ
ʿalā
upon
أُمَّةٍۢ
ummatin
a religion
وَإِنَّا
wa-innā
and indeed, we
عَلَىٰٓ
ʿalā
on
ءَاثَـٰرِهِم
āthārihim
their footsteps
مُّهْتَدُونَ
muh'tadūna
(are) guided
﴾22﴿
