وَأَمَّا
wa-ammā
And as for
ثَمُودُ
thamūdu
Thamud
فَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمْ
fahadaynāhum
We guided them
فَٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟
fa-is'taḥabbū
but they preferred
ٱلْعَمَىٰ
l-ʿamā
[the] blindness
عَلَى
ʿalā
over
ٱلْهُدَىٰ
l-hudā
the guidance
فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ
fa-akhadhathum
so seized them
صَـٰعِقَةُ
ṣāʿiqatu
a thunderbolt
ٱلْعَذَابِ
l-ʿadhābi
(of) the punishment
ٱلْهُونِ
l-hūni
humiliating
بِمَا
bimā
for what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used to
يَكْسِبُونَ
yaksibūna
earn
﴾17﴿
وَنَجَّيْنَا
wanajjaynā
And We saved
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believed
وَكَانُوا۟
wakānū
and used to
يَتَّقُونَ
yattaqūna
fear (Allah)
﴾18﴿
وَيَوْمَ
wayawma
And (the) Day
يُحْشَرُ
yuḥ'sharu
will be gathered
أَعْدَآءُ
aʿdāu
(the) enemies
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nāri
the Fire
فَهُمْ
fahum
then they
يُوزَعُونَ
yūzaʿūna
will be assembled in rows
﴾19﴿
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattā
Until
إِذَا
idhā
when
مَا
mā
when
جَآءُوهَا
jāūhā
they come to it
شَهِدَ
shahida
(will) testify
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
against them
سَمْعُهُمْ
samʿuhum
their hearing
وَأَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ
wa-abṣāruhum
and their sight
وَجُلُودُهُم
wajulūduhum
and their skins
بِمَا
bimā
(as) to what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used to
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūna
do
﴾20﴿
