and their hosts
كَانُوا۟
kānū
were
خَـٰطِـِٔينَ
khāṭiīna
sinners
﴾8﴿
وَقَالَتِ
waqālati
And said
ٱمْرَأَتُ
im'ra-atu
(the) wife
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
(of) Firaun
قُرَّتُ
qurratu
A comfort
عَيْنٍۢ
ʿaynin
(of the) eye
لِّى
lī
for me
وَلَكَ ۖ
walaka
and for you
لَا
lā
(Do) not
تَقْتُلُوهُ
taqtulūhu
kill him
عَسَىٰٓ
ʿasā
perhaps
أَن
an
(that)
يَنفَعَنَآ
yanfaʿanā
he may benefit us
أَوْ
aw
or
نَتَّخِذَهُۥ
nattakhidhahu
we may take him
وَلَدًۭا
waladan
(as) a son
وَهُمْ
wahum
And they
لَا
lā
(did) not
يَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūna
perceive
﴾9﴿
وَأَصْبَحَ
wa-aṣbaḥa
And became
فُؤَادُ
fuādu
(the) heart
أُمِّ
ummi
(of the) mother
مُوسَىٰ
mūsā
(of) Musa
فَـٰرِغًا ۖ
fārighan
empty
إِن
in
That
كَادَتْ
kādat
she was near
لَتُبْدِى
latub'dī
(to) disclosing
بِهِۦ
bihi
about him
لَوْلَآ
lawlā
if not
أَن
an
that
رَّبَطْنَا
rabaṭnā
We strengthened
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
[over]
قَلْبِهَا
qalbihā
her heart
لِتَكُونَ
litakūna
so that she would be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
﴾10﴿
