And Ad
وَثَمُودَا۟

and Thamud
وَأَصْحَـٰبَ
wa-aṣḥāba
and (the) dwellers
ٱلرَّسِّ
l-rasi
(of) Ar-rass
وَقُرُونًۢا
waqurūnan
and generations
بَيْنَ
bayna
between
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
كَثِيرًۭا
kathīran
many
﴾38﴿
وَكُلًّۭا
wakullan
And each
ضَرَبْنَا
ḍarabnā
We have set forth
لَهُ
lahu
for him
ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ ۖ
l-amthāla
the examples
وَكُلًّۭا
wakullan
and each
تَبَّرْنَا
tabbarnā
We destroyed
تَتْبِيرًۭا
tatbīran
(with) destruction
﴾39﴿
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And verily
أَتَوْا۟
ataw
they have come
عَلَى
ʿalā
upon
ٱلْقَرْيَةِ
l-qaryati
the town
ٱلَّتِىٓ
allatī
which
أُمْطِرَتْ
um'ṭirat
was showered
مَطَرَ
maṭara
(with) a rain
ٱلسَّوْءِ ۚ
l-sawi
(of) evil
أَفَلَمْ
afalam
Then do not
يَكُونُوا۟
yakūnū
they [were]
يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ
yarawnahā
see it
بَلْ
bal
Nay
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they are
لَا
lā
not
يَرْجُونَ
yarjūna
expecting
نُشُورًۭا
nushūran
Resurrection
﴾40﴿
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
رَأَوْكَ
ra-awka
they see you
إِن
in
not
يَتَّخِذُونَكَ
yattakhidhūnaka
they take you
إِلَّا
illā
except
هُزُوًا
huzuwan
(in) mockery
أَهَـٰذَا
ahādhā
Is this
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
the one whom
بَعَثَ
baʿatha
Allah has sent
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah has sent
رَسُولًا
rasūlan
(as) a Messenger
﴾41﴿
