وَلَوْ

And if
رَحِمْنَـٰهُمْ
raḥim'nāhum
We had mercy on them
وَكَشَفْنَا
wakashafnā
and We removed

(was) on them
مِّن

of
ضُرٍّۢ
ḍurrin
(the) hardship
لَّلَجُّوا۟
lalajjū
surely they would persist
فِى
fī
in
طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ
ṭugh'yānihim
their transgression
يَعْمَهُونَ
yaʿmahūna
wandering blindly
﴾75﴿
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And verily
أَخَذْنَـٰهُم
akhadhnāhum
We seized them
بِٱلْعَذَابِ
bil-ʿadhābi
with the punishment
فَمَا
famā
but not
ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟
is'takānū
they submit
لِرَبِّهِمْ
lirabbihim
to their Lord
وَمَا
wamā
and not
يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
yataḍarraʿūna
they supplicate humbly
﴾76﴿
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattā
Until
إِذَا
idhā
when
فَتَحْنَا
fataḥnā
We opened
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhim
for them
بَابًۭا
bāban
a gate
ذَا
dhā
of a punishment
عَذَابٍۢ
ʿadhābin
of a punishment
شَدِيدٍ
shadīdin
severe
إِذَا
idhā
behold
هُمْ
hum
They
فِيهِ
fīhi
in it
مُبْلِسُونَ
mub'lisūna
(will be in) despair
﴾77﴿
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī
(is) the One Who
أَنشَأَ
ansha-a
produced
لَكُمُ
lakumu
for you
ٱلسَّمْعَ
l-samʿa
the hearing
وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ
wal-abṣāra
and the sight
وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ
wal-afidata
and the feeling
قَلِيلًۭا
qalīlan
little
مَّا
mā
(is) what
تَشْكُرُونَ
tashkurūna
you give thanks
﴾78﴿
