وَلَوْ

And (even) if
فَتَحْنَا

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

the heaven
فَظَلُّوا۟

and they were to continue
فِيهِ

يَعْرُجُونَ
yaʿrujūna
(to) ascend
﴾14﴿
لَقَالُوٓا۟
laqālū
They would surely say
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
سُكِّرَتْ
sukkirat
have been dazzled
أَبْصَـٰرُنَا
abṣārunā
our eyes
بَلْ
bal
Nay
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
we
قَوْمٌۭ
qawmun
(are) a people
مَّسْحُورُونَ
masḥūrūna
bewitched
﴾15﴿
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And verily
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnā
We have placed
فِى
fī
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the heavens
بُرُوجًۭا
burūjan
constellations
وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا
wazayyannāhā
and We have beautified it
لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
lilnnāẓirīna
for the observers
﴾16﴿
وَحَفِظْنَـٰهَا
waḥafiẓ'nāhā
And We have protected it
مِن
min
from
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيْطَـٰنٍۢ
shayṭānin
devil
رَّجِيمٍ
rajīmin
accursed
﴾17﴿
إِلَّا
illā
Except
مَنِ
mani
(one) who
ٱسْتَرَقَ
is'taraqa
steals
ٱلسَّمْعَ
l-samʿa
the hearing
فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ
fa-atbaʿahu
then follows him
شِهَابٌۭ
shihābun
a burning flame
مُّبِينٌۭ
mubīnun
clear
﴾18﴿
