ٱلسَّاعَةُ
l-sāʿatu
the Hour
بَغْتَةًۭ
baghtatan
suddenly
قَالُوا۟
qālū
they said
يَـٰحَسْرَتَنَا
yāḥasratanā
Oh! Our regret
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
over
مَا
mā
what
فَرَّطْنَا
farraṭnā
we neglected
فِيهَا
fīhā
concerning it
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
يَحْمِلُونَ
yaḥmilūna
will bear
أَوْزَارَهُمْ
awzārahum
their burdens
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
on
ظُهُورِهِمْ ۚ
ẓuhūrihim
their backs
أَلَا
alā
Unquestionably
سَآءَ
sāa
Evil
مَا
mā
(is) what
يَزِرُونَ
yazirūna
they bear
﴾31﴿
وَمَا
wamā
And not
ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ
l-ḥayatu
(is) the life
ٱلدُّنْيَآ
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
إِلَّا
illā
except
لَعِبٌۭ
laʿibun
a play
وَلَهْوٌۭ ۖ
walahwun
and amusement
وَلَلدَّارُ
walalddāru
but the home
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ
l-ākhiratu
(of) the Hereafter
خَيْرٌۭ
khayrun
(is) best
لِّلَّذِينَ
lilladhīna
for those who
يَتَّقُونَ ۗ
yattaqūna
(are) God conscious
أَفَلَا
afalā
Then not
تَعْقِلُونَ
taʿqilūna
(will) you reason
﴾32﴿
