وَٱلْمُرْسَلَـٰتِ
wal-mur'salāti
By the ones sent forth
عُرْفًۭا
ʿur'fan
one after another
﴾1﴿
فَٱلْعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ
fal-ʿāṣifāti
And the winds that blow
عَصْفًۭا
ʿaṣfan
violently
﴾2﴿
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ
wal-nāshirāti
And the ones that scatter
نَشْرًۭا
nashran
far and wide
﴾3﴿
فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ
fal-fāriqāti
And those who separate
فَرْقًۭا
farqan
(by the) Criterion
﴾4﴿
فَٱلْمُلْقِيَـٰتِ
fal-mul'qiyāti
And those who bring down
ذِكْرًا
dhik'ran
(the) Reminder
﴾5﴿
عُذْرًا
ʿudh'ran
(As) justification
أَوْ
aw
or
نُذْرًا
nudh'ran
warning
﴾6﴿
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Indeed, what
تُوعَدُونَ
tūʿadūna
you are promised
لَوَٰقِعٌۭ
lawāqiʿun
will surely occur
﴾7﴿
فَإِذَا
fa-idhā
So when
ٱلنُّجُومُ
l-nujūmu
the stars
طُمِسَتْ
ṭumisat
are obliterated
﴾8﴿
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
l-samāu
the heaven
فُرِجَتْ
furijat
is cleft asunder
﴾9﴿
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
ٱلْجِبَالُ
l-jibālu
the mountains
نُسِفَتْ
nusifat
are blown away
﴾10﴿
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
ٱلرُّسُلُ
l-rusulu
the Messengers
أُقِّتَتْ
uqqitat
are gathered to their appointed time
﴾11﴿
لِأَىِّ
li-ayyi
For what
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
Day
أُجِّلَتْ
ujjilat
are (these) postponed
﴾12﴿
