وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَـٰتُ
wal-mu'tafikātu
and the overturned cities
بِٱلْخَاطِئَةِ
bil-khāṭi-ati
with sin
﴾9﴿
فَعَصَوْا۟
faʿaṣaw
And they disobeyed
رَسُولَ
rasūla
(the) Messenger
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
(of) their Lord
فَأَخَذَهُمْ
fa-akhadhahum
so He seized them
أَخْذَةًۭ
akhdhatan
(with) a seizure
رَّابِيَةً
rābiyatan
exceeding
﴾10﴿
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
لَمَّا
lammā
when
طَغَا
ṭaghā
overflowed
ٱلْمَآءُ
l-māu
the water
حَمَلْنَـٰكُمْ
ḥamalnākum
We carried you
فِى
fī
in
ٱلْجَارِيَةِ
l-jāriyati
the sailing (ship)
﴾11﴿
لِنَجْعَلَهَا
linajʿalahā
That We might make it
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
تَذْكِرَةًۭ
tadhkiratan
a reminder
وَتَعِيَهَآ
wataʿiyahā
and would be conscious of it
أُذُنٌۭ
udhunun
an ear
وَٰعِيَةٌۭ
wāʿiyatun
conscious
﴾12﴿
